Urn-ing Potential

Yes, that post title really happened.

So, last weekend, I went to Hobby Lobby with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law.  I LOVE Hobby Lobby.  Western Washington just got our first Hobby Lobby this past winter, and now another one has opened within a 30 minute drive from my house.  So I joined the fam to help my darling seeeester pick out silk flowers to adorn the altar at her wedding.  We totally cleaned out the floral section.

50% off greenery or bust!

And then something extra cool and totally unexpected happened.  My darling sister wanted two urns to fill with topiaries and flowers.  Kind of like what's seen here.

From here.  Romantic, yes?

And it turns out that Hobby Lobby had a set.  Normally $130 each, on sale for 50% off.  Great deal for her!  It also turns out that despite my $0 landscaping budget this year, I have been eyeballing some urns myself (for future reference, I have to keep telling myself).

From Mini Manor Blog.

From 320 Sycamore Blog.

Front porch + urns = me drooling.  Yeah, you can get plastic urns pretty cheaply- the Rite Aid down the street from us has them for $20.  But they look... well, cheap.  And these ones are polyresin, so they don't weigh a ton but they still look (and feel) substantial.

And then my sister said the magic words.  "I just don't know what I'm going to do with these after the wedding."  Uh, obviously I will buy them from you after your December wedding, saving you wedding costs and still sticking to my zero dollar budget for this year!!  And it sounds like she's gonna do it!  Whoop, whoop!

So by the time we were done shopping we had three, yes THREE shopping carts full of wedding goodies.  And my seeester had gotten supplies for all things floral in her wedding- the arrangements on the altar, her bouquet, the bridesmaid bouquets, the boutonnieres, and even baskets for the flower girls.

Swag.

So I will bid farewell to the urns until December.  Gee, with two extra urns to store over the winter, it'd sure be nice to have a potting shed.  Ha!  If you give a mouse a cookie....

    1. Aww, Christie, you're so sweet! I was the same way when we moved in here- wanting it look nice but not really knowing how to bring it all together. All I have to say is, pinterest. Seriously. Whatever room or area or project I'm thinking of, I just search for it on pinterest, and then pin the pictures that I love. If there's something that's similar about all of them- a color, a feel, an piece of furniture- then I have a place to start! I'll keep the blog posts coming if you promise to keep the gratuitous food pics coming on facebook!
